Pre-Event: Guided Tour Through the Hungarian Parliament

If you arrive in Budapest before the official opening of the MitOst Festival, we have a special treat for you: Budapest-based MitOst member Norbert Boros will lead a guided tour in English and German through the Hungarian Parliament.

The Hungarian Parliament ranks among the most beautiful Parliament buildings in the world. Since 2011, the edifice is the central element of the World Heritage site Danube panorama. It is the place where law making happens, with 199 Members of Parliament and nearly 600 clerks working here, a place of safekeeping for the Hungarian Holy Crown, and a place that has witnessed pivotal moments of Hungarian history. After the tour, you will have the chance to engage in a conversation with Sándor Lezsák, poet and teacher as well as incumbent deputy speaker of the National Assembly and one of the active political figures during the transformation period in the late 80s / early 90s.

If you want to participate, please write us an e-mail (festival(at) until 13 September 2019 with the subject line “Parliament Visit – 2 October 2019, registration” mentioning your name and country of origin. Please note that the number of places is limited.
